How to Reach Haridwar

By Road :

Haridwar is well connected with motorable roads. Haridwar is the gateway to the Shivalik range of Uttarakhand state. Luxury and normal Buses to Haridwar are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate. Buses and Taxis to Haridwar are easily available from major destinations of Uttarakhand state. Haridwar is connected with National Highway 58.

By Air :

Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest Airport to Haridwar and is situated 36 kms from Haridwar. Taxis are easily available from Jolly Grant Airport to Haridwar. Jolly Grant Airport is well connected to Delhi with daily flights.

By Rail :

Haridwar is well connected by railway networks with major destinations of India. Haridwar has an excellent rail network with all the important cities in India. Trains to Haridwar run on a regular basis from major cities across the country. Haridwar Junction Railway Station (IR station code: HW) is well-connected by train, with frequent trains to Delhi (4-5 hours) and Dehradun (1 hour). There are also a few trains per day to Rishikesh, but buses are faster and much more frequent. The train station is located on the south side of town, within walking distance to most hotels but a 2-km hike to Hari-ki-Pauri.

Terms & Conditions for Scheduled Package Tours - 2023

General Information's

1.  Tourists/Pilgrims booked on any of the Package Tours are requested to fill the Guest Registration Form before starting of the tour.

2.  Tourists/ Pilgrims booked on the package tours categorized below are requested to report one day before beginning of the tours at the following TRHs where pre- accommodation charges are included in the ticket:-.

a) For Tour No. 1 (Every Monday), Tour No. 4 (Every Wednesday & Saturday) and Tour No. 12 (Every Monday):
–  To report one day before departure at Bharat Bhoomi Tourist Complex, Haridwar Bye Pass Road, Rishikesh. Tel: 0135-2433002 & +91-9568006685

b) For Tour No. 8 (Every Sunday) and Tour No. 10 (Every Saturday & Monday), Tour No. 13 (Every Sunday) and Tour No. 14 (Every Thursday):

3.  Individual above 3 Years and up to 12 Years will be treated as a child and separate seat will be provided to them.

4.  Seat number is allotted on the ‘First Come – First Serve’ basis strictly for the Bus Package Tours. In the event of any seat cancellation, the next reserved seats automatically move forward.

5.  Vegetarian meals at moderate rates are available in GMVN’s Tourist Rest Houses except at few places but, the same facility is conveniently available in the local market. The Pilgrims/ Tourists shall have to pay the cost of meals separately at all the places.

6.  Pilgrims/ Tourists are advised not to carry cooking gas cylinder and other inflammable items as it is strictly prohibited to carry such items in tourist vehicles.

7.  Some of the Treks, as per the itinerary, involve a continuous ascent of gradual and steep gradients through dense forests, ascending valleys and encountering towering waterfalls. Although, walking experience on these treks is memorable and enjoyable but the old and infant may find it strenuous. For the people who find it difficult/ challenging to trek down the path, Dandies (local Palanquin) and ponies are available at extra charges (to be borne by Tourist/s) as applicable.

8.  Yatra office also organizes customized package tours i.e. Yoga package, White water river Rafting, Trekking, Local excursions & wild life safari tours to cater the needs of tourist.

9.  All Package Tours are without meals. For meals, ponies, dandies, ropeway charges, Heli services Charges and other charges as occurred will be paid and settled by the Tourists/ Pilgrims at the spot.

10.  Piligrims/Tourists booked on Tour No. - 7 are requested to submit Identification certificate (Adhar card) to the Booking Office or Yatra Office through e-mail at the time of booking for Gaumukh tour.

11.  Tourists/ Pilgrims booked on Tour No. 7 will have to pay entry fee for Gaumukh at the forest check- post, Gangotri or DFO Office, Uttarkashi.

12.  Tourists/ Pilgrims booked on Tour No. 12 will have to pay entry fee for Valley of Flowers at forest check- post, Ghangaria.

13.  Check in time 02.00 pm Check out time 11.00 AM (Except- Kedarnath & Badrinath)

14.  GMVN TRHs Kedarnath Dham & Badrinath Dham Check in time 02.00 pm Check out time 10.00 AM (Last Reporting 9.00 PM)

15.  Tourist of Rudra Meditation Cave last reporting time is 4.00 PM at Kedarnath Swargarohini Cottage.

16.  In any case if GMVN TRHs has been occupied by Distt. Administration for any reason, alternate accommodation arrangements will be made in private lodges/guest houses/hotels at near bye TRHs & other places.

17.  All Tourists are requested to get the registration for Char Dham Yatra/Valley of Flower/Hemkund Sahib as it is compulsory by the Govt Rules from Uttarakhand Tourism website.

Note : The meals indications in all the tour programmes mentioned for the time allocation in the itinerary references only.

Transport

1.  Transport arrangements will be made available for the Scheduled Package Tours conducted by GMVN by (2 X 2) 27 seater Non A.C. coach, 12 seater Non A.C. Tempo travelers, Innova & Non A.C. Cab etc.

2.  Package tours are being organized on availability of a minimum number of seats as mentioned below :

–  Non A.C. Bus (2X2), 27 Seater : 17 Seats (minimum)
–  Non A.C. Tempo Traveller (2x1),12 Seater : 08 Seats (minimum)
–  A.C. Innova : 04 Seats (minimum)
–  Non A.C. Cab: 02 Seats 

3.  In the event of inadequate booking, the tour either may get cancelled or postponed. In such events money will be refunded or reserved for the next available tour depending upon the Tourist’s preference.

4.  Ponies, Porters and Dandies (local Palanquin; 4 men carrier) are available at the following motor heads (with own arrangement & direct on the spot payment basis):-

–  Jankichatti : Yamunotri  (5 km trek One Way)

–  Gangotri : Bhojwasa  (14 Kms trek one way)/Gaumukh (18 km trek One Way)

–  Gaurikund/Sonpryag : Kedarnath  (17 km trek One Way from Gaurikund)/(22 Km Trek One way from Soneprayag)

–  Govindghat : Ghangaria  (14 KM Trek One way)

–  Ghangaria : Valley of Flowers  (18 Km trek one way)/ Hemkund (20 km trek One Way)

5.  In case number of seats booked for the bus tour is inadequate and are less than 7 seats, the ticket amount shall be refunded or an alternate tour shall be conducted on tourist’s consent. GMVN reserves the right to change the suitable vehicle according to the number of guests. The same tour may be organized by light vehicle and in such cases Guide services will not be provided & Guide charges will be merged in the transport head.

6.   Tourists are advised to bring torch, raincoat, heavy woolen clothes and medicine as per your doctor’s advice to meet the primary needs.

L.T.C. Facility

1.  L.T.C. facility will apply only in Transport head.

2.  Pilgrims/ Tourists availing L.T.C. facility will be provided with due travel certificate against the amount of transportation charges after completion of the tour only.

Senior Citizen Discount

1.  15% discount in transportation facility is provided to Senior Citizens, male above 60 Years and female above 55 Years of age only for Scheduled Package Tour.

2.  Guest/s will have to produce his/ her age certificate before beginning of the tour to avail the facility.

3.  For identification one can produce his/her photo identification (Adhar Card/ Passport/ Driving license/ Voter Card etc.) at the time of the booking.

4.  The guest must carry attested copy of age verification document during the journey attested by booking in charge.

Accommodation Policy

Accommodation for Scheduled Package Tours

–  Type of accommodation provided for Scheduled Package Tours as follows

1.  Type of accommodation for different tours:

Tour No. 1, 2, 3, 4, & 12 (by Non A.C. Bus) & Tour No. 5 (By Non A.C. Tempo Traveller): Rooms on twin sharing with attached bath facilities. For Tour No. 1, 2, 3, 4 & Tour No. 5: bunk bedded dormitory accommodation is provided in Kedarnath Nandi Tourist Complex Base Camp. Tour No. 12 (three Night stay at Ghangaria): Arrangement of attached bath accommodation will be made available in Private Lodges /Hotels.

Tour No.7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 (by AC Innova) and Tour No. 13 & 14 (Non AC Cab): Rooms on twin sharing with attached bath facilities will be provided. For Tour No. 8, 9, 10 & 11: Family room accommodation is provided at Kedarnath Swargarohini Complex. For Tour No. 13, 14 & 6: bunk bedded dormitory accommodation is provided at Kedarnath Swargarohini Complex. For Tour No. 7: Dormitory accommodation is provided at bhojwasa.

2.  Cloak room facilities are available on chargeable basis at  Gaurikund, Hanumanchatti, Sayanachatti, Phoolchatti, Jankichatti, Gangotri & other last motor head & base of Kedarnath/ Bhojwasa & Yamunotri trek en route journey.

3.  On the day of return from the tour, the Tourists/ Pilgrims will have to make their own arrangement for night halt at Rishikesh and/ or Haridwar. Guest may however, reserve in advance the accommodation at the GMVN Tourist House in Rishikesh (Muni-Ki-Reti/ Bharat Bhoomi/ Ganga Resort) and/ or Hotel Alaknanda Haridwar on chargeable basis.

4.  In case GMVN accommodation is fully booked, alternate accommodation arrangements will be made in private lodges/ guest houses/ hotels at Badrinath & other places.

6.  If a guest instead of checking in at the reserved destination reaches elsewhere and requests for adjustment of the amount, It will not be accepted.

7.  Check in time 02.00 pm Check out time 11.00 AM (Except- Kedarnath & Badrinath)

8.  GMVN TRHs Kedarnath Dham & Badrinath Dham Check in time 02.00 pm Check out time 10.00 AM (Last Reporting 9.00 PM)

9.  Tourist of Rudra Meditation Cave last reporting time is 4.00 PM at Kedarnath Swargarohini Cottage.

10.  In any case if GMVN TRHs has been occupied by Distt. Administration for any reason, alternate accommodation arrangements will be made in private lodges/guest houses/hotels at near bye TRHs & other places.

Deposit Policy

1.   The booking will be confirmed on first come first served basis after receiving full advance payment covering the cost of tickets.

2.   Advance may be initiated through a Bank Draft drawn in favour of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd, Payable at Rishikesh / PRO Office or by cash payment in the office/ cash counter or M.D. GMVN Ltd. Central A/C No.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation/ Refund Policy

The cancellation request shall be considered on intimation received through either e-mail or by hand to the concerning booking offices on following terms

  Cancellation before 15 days & more : 10% deduction + 18% GST.
  Cancellation between 14 to 8 days prior : 20% deduction + 18% GST.
  Cancellation between 7 to 3 days prior : 40% deduction + 18% GST.
  Cancellation before 2 days & less : 90% deduction + 18% GST
1. Further, in the event of the Pilgrim/ Tourist leaving the tour midway due to personal reasons, any claim for refund of money either full or part will not be entertainment.
2. Refund will be made after producing original cash receipt and cancellation charges will be deducted on the full amount of the ticket. For example, if a tourist has paid 50% of advance and cancels the seat, cancellation charges will be calculated on full ticket fare.
3. No refund will be made in the eventuality of the tour, being cancelled Scheduled or Additional tour due to natural calamities, beyond the control of GMVN.
4. The amount either full or part duly sanctioned for refund to Tourist/ Pilgrims shall be refunded to him/ them by the concerning booking office where deposits were made for the package tour reservation.
5. If a guest instead of checking in at the reserved destination reaches elsewhere and request for adjustment/ refund of the booking amount, it will not be entertained.
6. The postponement of the seat is admissible subject to request made at least 48 Hours prior the starting date of the Scheduled Package Tour.
7. Postponement of seat for next tour date will be allowed free of charge once for a legitimate reason only. In case of second postponement, an additional amount of 20 % as service charge of the tariff shall be imposed.

Station/ Destination Change

Destination/ Station Change request for ongoing booking/ tour is subject to availability with following terms & conditions:

  Service Charge: - 20% of tariff of new available accommodation.
  Amount payable: - New tariff plus (+) service charges @ 20% of new tariff plus (+) applicable GST minus (-) old tariff.
  No refund will be payable to the guest/s if, the amount calculated under point number (b) is negative due to lower tariff of new available accommodation.

Terms & Conditions

  The Management reserves the right to change the tariff at any time without prior intimation.
  Tourists are liable and responsible of ensuring safety of their valuables & belongings during the tour. GMVN shall not be responsible for any misplacement, losses or damage.
  Tourists are requested to abide by house rules, respect local sentiments and culture.
  The GMVN shall not be held responsible for Loss/ Delay/ Cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances/ Natural Disaster etc. beyond the control of GMVN.
  In case In case of difference of opinion between parties and GMVN officials, the decision of Managing Director, GMVN shall be final and binding to both the sides. Any disputes, claim or legal proceedings between the Pilgrims/ Tourists & GMVN shall be subject to jurisdiction of the court of Dehradun (Uttarakhand) within 30 days after completion of the tour. Beyond this, GMVN shall not be responsible for any claims, whatsoever.
  In the event of tour break down on account of natural calamities or any kind of unforeseen events en route, alternate arrangement for Pilgrims/ Tourists to the next destination as per tour programme will be made through locally available transport mode.
  The above terms & conditions are subject to suitable revision, addition & alterations as per the decision of the management at any time without prior notification.
  GST and any other statutory taxes as applicable will be charged extra in all cases where GMVN charges any amount as deduction or service charges.

Trek to Base Camp, taking plenty of time to acclimatize and to visit the Sherpa families and support facilities that will become increasingly important during our expedition. We will spend several days in Namche ahead of most trekkers, and will visit the monasteries in Tengboche and Pangboche.
