Harsil is well connected by motorable roads with major destinations of Uttarakhand state. Harsil is situated on NH108 which connects Gangotri in Uttarkashi district. Buses to Rishikesh, Tehri, and Uttarkashi are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Delhi. Buses and Taxis to Harsil are easily available from major destinations of Uttarakhand state like Rishikesh, Dehradun, Tehri, Barkot, Uttarkashi, etc.

By Air :

Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest Airport to Harsil situated at a distance of 232kms and is well connected to Delhi with daily flights. It is connected by motorable roads with Jolly Grant Airport and Taxis are available from Jolly Grant Airport to Uttarkashi, Tehri, and Harsil.

By Rail :

The nearest railway station to Harsil is Rishikesh. Rishikesh railway station is situated 215kms before Harsil on NH58. Rishikesh is well connected by railway networks with major destinations of India and trains to Rishikesh are frequent. Dharali

Dharali is an exquisite hamlet situated at a distance of 3kms from Harsil. Dharali can be easily approached through motorable roads.
Dharali is a picturesque hamlet nestled on the tranquil banks of river Ganges. This village is perched at an altitude of 648 metres above sea level and lies in Rajgarhi tehsil or block.  The fairy tale hamlet of Dharali is located at a favorable distance of 3 km from the main town. Dharali is famous for its glittering apple orchards & Rajma cultivation.

Mukhwa Village

Mukhwa village is situated only 1km from Harsil. Mukhwa is the home of Goddess Gangotri during winters because Gangotri region is prone to heavy snowfall during winters. Devotees worship at Mukhwa village during winters when the doors of the Gangotri temple remains closed.
This place is popular due to the fact that the idol of Goddess Ganga is brought down to Mukhba from the shrine of Gangotri in the Upper Himalayas and kept here throughout the winters as Gangotri becomes inaccessible due to heavy Snowfall.
