By Road :
Dehradun is well connected with all major road transportation facilities. Luxury and normal Buses to Dehradun are easily available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Delhi. Buses and Taxis to Dehradun are also available from major destinations of Uttarakhand state. Dehradun is connected with National Highway 72 making it easier to access.
By Air :
Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest Airport to Dehradun city of Uttarakhand state. It is situated 25kms from Dehradun city with motorable roads. Taxis are easily available from Jolly Grant Airport to Dehradun. Jolly Grant Airport is well connected to Delhi with daily flights.
By Rail :
Dehradun is well connected with railways and you can reach up to Dehradun by train from major cities of India. There are two trains that run daily between Delhi to Dehradun and vice-versa. Shatabdi Express and Mussoorie Express are the two major trains connecting Dehradun with major cities of India like Amritsar, Howrah, Bombay, Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi etc.

Tapkeshwar Temple
Tapkeshwar Shiv Temple is an ancient place of worship and is situated on the banks of a rivulet, in the Garhi Cantt area. It is one of the oldest temples in Dehradun, dedicated to lord Shiva. The Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple houses two shivlingas. Both these shivlingas are not man-made and have come into existence naturally. A festival is held here every year. This festival is known as Tapkeshwar fair. It is located at a distance of about 5.5 km from the heart of the city.
Robbers Cave Guchhu Pani
Named by the British, Robbers Cave is well known locally as 'Gucchhu Pani'. It was believed that Robbers used to take hide in Guchhupani after robbery, so British name it as Robbers Cave. It is situated at the distance of 8 km from the city center. It is 600 meters long cave having small river inside it.
Guchhupani or Robbers Cave is known for unusual cold springs which go underground at some of the places inside the caves.
Forest Research Institute
It is well known institute in the field of forestry, which is being run by Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education. It has also museum on forestry that is open from 9:30am to 5:00pm. The Forest Research Institute of India, popularly called as FRI Dehradun is an architectural marvel and vast collection of forestry related items in its six museums. Visitors often like to take long walk in the serene and peaceful environment of FRI.
Sai Darbar
Situated 8 Kms along the Clock Tower on Rajpur Road, is the Sai Darbar Temple. This place holds a high cultural and spiritual value and is visited by tourists from across the country and foreigners as well.
The Sai Darbar Temple is one of the pious and popular religious places in Dehradun. It is constructed out of white marble and the idol of Sai Baba is placed in the middle of the temple.
Laxman Siddh Temple
A place of great devotion, Laxman Siddh Temple is a famous as the cremation site of holy Saint Swami Laxman Siddh. Laxman Siddh Temple is located at 12 km from Dehradun at Haridwar / Rishikesh Road.
Surrounded by the dense forest and in a scenic environment, Laxman Siddh Temple is believed to be the same place where Lord Laxman, brother of Lord Rama underwent repentance after slaying the demon king Ravana.
Sahastradhara
Sahastra Dhara, laterally meaning, the ‘thousand fold spring’ is situated at a distance of 11 km from Dehra Dun. The place makes an ideal picnic spot and is of immense attraction to visitors.
The water here has a fall of about 9 metres and leaves an incrustation of lime of all its touches. Particles thus accumulating over the centuries have formed a projecting ledge, and a sort of cave, from the roof of which falls a perpetual shower.
Malsi Deer Park
Malsi Deer Park is now renamed as Dehradun Zoo. Malsi Deer Park is a major wildlife lover’s attraction after Rajaji National Park in Dehradun. Located at 10 km from Dehradun at Mussoorie Road, this mini Zoological park or garden is now developed as a famous family outing/picnic spot in Dehradun and flushed with visitors during weekends.
Surrounded by Malsi Reserve Forest, Malsi Deer Park is famous for sightseeing of young deer or heard of deer in their natural habitat at Shiwalik foothills.
Tibetan Buddhist Temple
Famous for extravagant Buddhist structure and holy school of Tibetan religion, Buddha Temple is the most visited place in Dehradun city. Located at Clement Town, Buddha Temple is center of attraction for many International tourists and Budhhist followers.
Built in Japanese architecture style, Buddha Temple complex atmosphere provides a mental peace equal to Buddhist monk.
Shri Parkasheshwar Mahadev Mandir
Shri Parkasheshwar Mahadev Mandir is a temple of Hindu Lord Shiva which is located on the Dehradun-Mussoorie Road in Uttarakhand and popularly known as Shiv Mandir on Mussoorie road.
This Shiv temple has Sphatik Shivling of Lord Shiva. There are many Shiv Mandir in Dehradun but it is a special one because it is a private Shiv temple owned by an unknown owner.
